INDONESIA’S SIX INDUSTRIAL SECTORS THAT WILL GROW RAPIDLY IN 2025
The Center of Economic and Law Studies (Celios) stated that there are at least six industrial sectors in Indonesia that have the potential to grow rapidly in 2025. The sectors are high-tech industries for renewable energy components; semiconductors; textiles; motor vehicle parts; iron and steel; and downstreaming in the fisheries and agriculture sectors.Celios Director Bhima Yudhistira Adhinegara explained that the high-tech industry designated as a renewable energy component has the potential to skyrocket considering President Prabowo's commitment to build 75 gigawatt (GW) of clean electrification by 2040. "High-tech industrial opportunities include energy saving storage batteries, as well as solar panel components, wind and water generators," he said.In addition, the semiconductor industry, textiles, ready-to-wear clothing, motor vehicle spare parts, and iron and steel industries have the potential to increase due to the trade war between the United States and China.According to Bhima, the business competition between the two superpowers could be utilized by Indonesia to attract investment from producers who avoid tariff increases."Factories that avoid tariff increases are usually closer to the source of raw materials or closer to potential markets. Indonesia meets both criteria, rich in raw materials and a potential market," he added. Meanwhile, downstreaming of fishery and agricultural products has great potential to become an economic driver in 2025, due to the issue of food both to fulfill the free nutritious meal program (MBG), as well as high domestic and export needs.Source:https://www.antaranews.com/berita/4559946/celios-sebut-enam-sektor-perindustrian-tumbuh-pesat-pada-2025 (ICE GIACARTA)
