KazMunayGas reports growth in oil production and transportation in 2024Kazakhstan’s national oil and gas company, KazMunayGas (KMG), produced 23.8 million tonnes of oil and condensate in 2024, a 1.3% increase compared to the previous year.The figures were announced by the President's press service following a meeting between President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and KMG Chairman Askhat Khassenov. "Oil and condensate production across the KMG group of companies reached 23.8 million tonnes, surpassing the 2023 level by 1.3%," the statement read.During a meeting to review KazMunayGas' performance in 2024, the company’s head informed President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev that oil transportation volumes had grown by 4% compared to 2023, reaching 83.6 million tonnes.He also reported that domestic refineries processed 17.44 million tonnes of oil last year. To meet growing domestic demand, the production of light petroleum products was increased by 370,000 tonnes compared to the previous year.President Tokayev underscored the need for continued focus on geological exploration, large-scale investment projects, and the development of Kazakhstan's petrochemical industry.KazMunayGas is the country’s national operator for the exploration, production, refining, and transportation of hydrocarbons, representing state interests in the oil and gas sector.
