Kazakhstan’s wheat harvest hits decade-high of 18 million tonnes in 2024Kazakhstan harvested 26.7 million tonnes of grain in 2024, with wheat accounting for 18 million tonnes, according to the Ministry of Agriculture."The 18 million tonnes of wheat reported by Kazakhstan matches data from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The total grain harvest, which includes wheat, barley, oats, peas, lentils, and other crops, amounted to 26.7 million tonnes," the ministry stated in a press release on Saturday.The ministry noted that in 2024, grain and legume crops were harvested from 16.7 million hectares, with an average yield of 16.1 centners per hectare. The total harvest of 26.7 million tonnes marks a record high for Kazakhstan in the past decade.For comparison, in 2023, Kazakhstani farmers harvested 16.6 million tonnes of grain, including 11.5 million tonnes of wheat.
