Kazakhstan's Kaspi bank and Home Credit Bank suspend issue of payment cards to non-residentsTwo banks in Kazakhstan -- Kaspi bank and Home Credit Bank -- have temporarily suspended the issue of debit cards to non-residents, an Interfax-Kazakhstan correspondent said."The issue of new debit cards to non-residents of Kazakhstan has been temporarily restricted. There is no information about when this restriction will be lifted," Home Credit Bank's call center told Interfax-Kazakhstan.Kaspi bank said that non-residents will not be able to get their Kaspi Gold cards issued or reissued January 19 to February 3, 2025."After February 3, they will be able to have their Kaspi Gold card issued for a period of one year at Kaspi.kz offices that serve non-residents," the Kaspi bank’s call center told Interfax-Kazakhstan.The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market earlier set limits on the validity period of payment cards issued to non-residents, as well as on the number of payment cards that can be issued to one person. The new requirements will not apply to entrepreneurs, diplomats and investors. (ICE ALMATY)
