Halyk Bank, Eurasian Bank, Nurbank and VTB Bank suspend issue of payment cards to non-residentsAnother four banks in Kazakhstan -- Halyk Bank, Eurasian Bank, Nurbank and VTB Bank JSC -- have suspended the issue of payment cards to non-residents, the banks told Interfax-Kazakhstan.The call centers of Halyk Bank and VTB Bank told Interfax-Kazakhstan that they now do not issue cards to non-residents. However, they did not have information about when the issue of cards might be resumed.The operator of Eurasian Bank also said that the bank doesn’t issue payments cards to non-residents and they don’t know when the bank might resume the issue of cards to non-residents.The call center of VTB Bank said that the suspension of payment card issue to non-residents was due to technical problems. The bank said that they can’t tell when the issue of cards will be resumed but “the restriction was temporary”.Nurbank published on its website an announcement about the suspension of payment cards issue to non-residents due to some technical reasons. The call center of the bank told Interfax-Kazakhstan they don’t know when the issue of cards may be resumed.Kaspi bank and Home Credit Bank also suspended earlier the issue of payment cards to non-residents.The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market earlier set limits on the validity period of payment cards issued to non-residents, as well as on the number of payment cards that can be issued to one person. The new requirements will not apply to entrepreneurs, diplomats and investors. (ICE ALMATY)
