KAZAKHSTAN-BATUMI-KTO-FERTILIZER
KazTransOil subsidiary exports first shipment of ammophos via Batumi PortA subsidiary of Kazakhstan’s KazTransOil (KTO) has exported the first shipment of Kazakh ammophos, a nitrogen-phosphate fertilizer, from the port of Batumi via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM)."The operation was carried out by Batumi Sea Port LLC, managed by KTO’s subsidiary, Batumi Oil Terminal. The shipment involved 3,000 tonnes of Kazakh ammophos, produced by Kazphosphate LLP. This marks the first export of the mineral fertilizer from Batumi via the TMTM," KTO press service said.The cargo was transported using multimodal logistics, with plans to transship 50,000 tonnes of Kazakh ammophos through Batumi in 2025. In 2024, Batumi Oil Terminal facilitated the export of 37,600 tonnes of Kazakh ammonium nitrate to global markets via the same route.KazTransOil JSC, a national operator of Kazakhstan’s main oil pipelines and part of the KazMunayGas group, manages production assets in Georgia through its subsidiary, Batumi Oil Terminal LLC. The company owns and operates a diversified network of over 5,200 km of main oil pipelines and provides operational services for third-party pipelines spanning more than 5,000 km.The TMTM connects China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, and Europe, serving as a vital corridor for international trade.
