Halyk Bank, Kaspi Bank and VTB Bank resume issue of payment cards to non-residentsKazakhstan-based Halyk Bank, Kaspi Bank and Subsidiary Bank JSC VTB Bank have resumed the issue of payment cards to non-residents.The call centers of Halyk Bank and Kaspi Bank have told Interfax-Kazakhstan that they have resumed the issue of payment cards to non-residents. VTB Bank has published an announcement on its website on its resumption of card issue services to non-residents."The card can be issued by the bank’s offices if you have a residence permit," Halyk Bank said.Kaspi Bank has resumed the issue of payment cards to non-residents on the same terms and conditions."Kaspi Gold payment cards can be issued to citizens of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) states and foreigners if they hold Kazakhstan’s residence permit,” the bank said.VTB (Kazakhstan) has resumed issuing Mir cards to non-residents of the republic."The bank has adjusted its system and is ready to operate in compliance with the new requirements of the republic's legislation: the cards will now be issued for a period of 12 months. For diplomats and non-resident investors this period can be extended to 3 years,” VTA Bank says in its announcement.Eurasian Bank, Nurbank and Home Credit Bank, which earlier also suspended the issue of payment cards to non-residents, haven’t yet resumed this service, their call centers informed Interfax-Kazakhstan.The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market earlier set limits on the validity period of payment cards issued to non-residents, as well as on the number of payment cards that can be issued to one person. The new requirements will not apply to entrepreneurs, diplomats and investors. (ICE ALMATY)
