Halyk Bank hasn’t yet resumed issue of payment cards to non-residentsHalyk Bank is still working towards resuming the issue of payment cards to non-residents with a validity period of up to 12 months, the bank's press service told Interfax-Kazakhstan."Halyk is taking effort to resume the issue of payment cards to non-residents with a validity period of up to 12 months. At the moment, the payment cards are issued to foreign citizens who have a residence permit," the bank said.Halyk Bank’s call center said on February 14 that the bank had resumed the issue of payment cards to non-residents, adding that the non-residents need to have a residence permit in order to be issued the card.Kaspi Bank and Subsidiary Bank VTB Bank JSC also announced the resumption of card issue services to non-residents.Eurasian Bank, Nurbank and Home Credit Bank, which previously also suspended the issue of payment cards to non-residents, haven’t yet resumed this service, their call centers told Interfax-Kazakhstan earlier.The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market earlier set limits on the validity period of payment cards issued to non-residents, as well as on the number of payment cards that can be issued to one person. The new requirements will not apply to entrepreneurs, diplomats and investors. (ICE ALMATY)
