Kazakhstan to boost agro-industrial financing by 80% in 2025The Agrarian Credit Corporation (ACC) and its subsidiary KazAgroFinance are set to allocate 1.5 trillion tenge ($3 billion) to Kazakhstan’s agro-industrial sector in 2025, marking an 80% increase from the 818.2 billion tenge allocated in 2024."The corporation continues to expand its support for agricultural producers. ACC finances 26% of all farmers in the country, and in 2024, lending volumes reached 818.2 billion tenge," the press service of the credit corporation told Interfax-Kazakhstan.This significant boost in funding aims to modernize the agricultural sector, enhance food security, and expand export opportunities."The funds will be directed toward key activities such as spring fieldwork, harvesting, investment projects, procurement of essential resources, working capital replenishment, and leasing of agricultural machinery," stated the government press release.Priority areas include processing agricultural products, developing industrial greenhouses, irrigation systems, and large-scale feed production. These initiatives are expected to drive innovation, improve productivity, and reduce dependency on food imports. To support larger-scale projects, the government is increasing ACC’s project financing limits from 7 to 15 billion tenge. Additionally, guarantee programs like the "Bayterek" fund and "Damu" guarantees will now cover long-term projects, providing greater security for investors. KazAgroFinance will focus on promoting domestic agricultural machinery, amplifying the multiplier effect of farmer support on local industrial enterprises. In a bid to expand exports, Kazakhstan is actively exploring new markets. Negotiations with Malaysia aim to create a new trade fund, which could raise grain exports to $200 million, with a long-term target of $1 billion. The national holding company "Bayterek" is also forming a poultry farm pool to further diversify agricultural exports. The Agrarian Credit Corporation (ACC) is a subsidiary of Kazakhstan’s national holding company "Bayterek" and plays a key role in developing the country’s agro-industrial complex. It implements lending programs focused on priority areas of agricultural production, supporting farmers and agribusinesses across the nation. Its subsidiary, KazAgroFinance, was established by a government resolution in 1999. Its primary goal is to support the development of Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector by providing farmers with access to financial resources, agricultural machinery, and technological equipment through leasing programs.
