The upcoming TV series Portobello, directed by Marco Bellocchio, will be the first Italian original production for MAX, Warner Bros. Discovery's new streaming platform launching in 2026.Produced by Our Films (part of the Mediawan group) and Kavac Film, in co-production with Arte France and in collaboration with The Apartment Pictures (a Fremantle company), the series is led by producers Lorenzo Mieli, Mario Gianani, and Simone Gattoni.Portobello follows the true story of Enzo Tortora, the renowned host of the Italian television program Portobello, who was falsely accused of involvement in a Camorra-run drug trafficking ring.Fabrizio Gifuni stars as Tortora, joined by Lino Musella, Romana Maggiora Vergano, Barbora Bobulova, Alessandro Preziosi, and Fausto Russo Alesi. The screenplay is written by Marco Bellocchio, Stefano Bises, Giordana Mari, and Peppe Fiore.The series features cinematography by Francesco Di Giacomo, production design by Andrea Castorina, costumes by Daria Calvelli, editing by Francesca Calvelli, and an original score by Teho Teardo.Portobello will be available on MAX worldwide, except in France, Germany, and the Benelux region.
