ITALY FUNDS HIGH-PERFORMANCE MODULES FROM MEYER BURGER
Meyer Burger's high-performance modules have qualified for the highest funding rate in the Italian Transizione 5.0 funding programme. The solar module manufacturer from Thun in the Swiss canton of Bern will fulfil an initial order with modules from its stock in Freiberg.The high-performance modules from Meyer Burger Technology AG have qualified for the highest funding category C in the Transizione 5.0 funding programme, according to a statement from Meyer Burger. Transizione 5.0 is a programme run by the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, which aims to support companies in their digital and energy transformation. According to the statement, of the modules available on the market, only Meyer Burger's high-performance modules have achieved support category C.The highest funding category is associated with a maximum tax credit, which buyers of the modules can use to finance around two thirds of the total project costs. To qualify for category C, the modules must be manufactured in the EU and use bifacial solar cells with an efficiency of at least 24 per cent, which are also produced in the EU.According to the statement, the solar module manufacturer from Thun has also secured its first order for the Italian market. Meyer Burger has concluded a contract for modules manufactured in Germany with the solar company IBC SOLAR, which is represented in Italy and is headquartered in Bad Staffelstein. The price and quantity of the modules ordered are not disclosed in the statement. Meyer Burger plans to fulfil the order from the stock at its plant in Freiberg, Germany, which was shut down in April 2024 but still has modules “available in sufficient quantities”. According to the statement, the company is currently in talks with other potential customers regarding deliveries to the Italian market. (ICE BERNA)
