Saudi Arabia’s Neom has set a deadline of mid-March for firms to submit their proposals for a contract to undertake the main construction works for the Mirage Visitor Centre in the Gateway Cluster of the Trojena mountain resort. It is understood that the tender was issued in August 2024. The previous deadline was 24 February. The Mirage Visitor Centre is a transit hub located at the development’s lower plateau. Visitors will arrive using automated vehicles and transfer to a funicular railway, travelling through a tunnel that will pass the Vault and continue on to the various destinations within Trojena. US-based engineering firm Jacobs and Lebanon’s Dar Al-Handasah are the project consultants. Bechtel is the project management consultant. In March last year  Neom had sought interest from companies for the development of the Mirage Visitor Centre. Earlier this month,  firms had submitted bids for a contract to build the Vault at the Trojena resort. The general contractor tender notice for the Vault was issued on 11 June.proposals for the contract were submitted in the first week of February. The Trojena resort will host the Asian Winter Games in 2029 and the construction works have been planned to meet that deadline. In January,  Neom had awarded an estimated $205m contract to deliver the concrete works for the Ski Village project at the mountain destination. The contract was awarded to a joint venture of local firms Abdulmohsen Altamimi Group and Batco. Neom is also preparing to award a contract covering the general construction works on the Trojena Ski Village project. The Ski Village is a superstructure comprising five zones, from the ground floor to the roof. It will include a ski slope, hotels, residences and retail facilities. Launched by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Al-Saud, Trojena is set to be a year-round tourist destination. It will include the ski village; family and wellness resorts; retail, food and beverage facilities; and sports amenities such as watersports and mountain biking.
