Fuels and lubricants’ prices in Kazakhstan would be higher without state regulation – Energy MinisterFuels and lubricants’ prices without state regulation would have been equal to those in neighboring countries, Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev said."If we completely de-regulate this market, then ideally the prices should be equal to those in neighboring countries: with the Russian Federation in the north, and  the countries of the Central Asia in the south," Satkaliyev said at a briefing on Wednesday.At the same time, he emphasized that the authorities were not aiming to set a certain price for fuel."In any case, we will take into account the social situation. The price must be socially responsible and must not destabilize the market for oil products. Therefore, under the control of the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition (AZRK), the price will be increased consistently according to the plan" the minister added. (ICE ALMATY)
