THREE NATIONS SUBMIT NUCLEAR POWER PLANT DEVELOPMENT PROPOSALS IN INDONESIA

The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) confirmed that it has received proposals from three countries for the development of a nuclear power plant (PLTN) in Indonesia. Vice Chairman of the Energy and Mineral Resources Department at Kadin, Aryo Djojohadikusumo, stated in Jakarta on Thursday that the proposals for PLTN, which is planned to be on-grid by 2032, come from the United States, China, and Russia.Djojohadikusumo explained that the proposals are still in the negotiation stage, but the United States has already established a partnership with Kadin members.Meanwhile, Russia said its state-owned company, Rosatom, is keen to establish cooperation in the construction of a nuclear power plant in Indonesia. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) will prepare three task forces to determine the locations for the construction of PLTN planned to be on-grid by 2032. These three task forces will be appointed after the government officially establishes the Nuclear Energy Program Implementation Organization (Nepio). In addition to determining the locations, the task forces will be tasked with developing security procedures, from the planning for the construction of the first PLTN to the operational phase of the nuclear energy electrification facility.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/346485/three-nations-submit-nuclear-power-plant-development-proposals-kadin?utm_source=antaranews&utm_medium=desktop&utm_campaign=top_news  (ICE GIACARTA)
