Senate Speaker warns Kazakhstan will face shortage of 1.6 million skilled workers by 2030Kazakhstan will need an additional 1.6 million skilled workers across various sectors by 2030, Senate Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev announced during parliamentary hearings in Astana."The country currently requires 900,000 workers with technical and vocational education and 430,000 with higher education," Ashimbayev stated. He noted that sectors such as engineering, technical roles, agronomy, veterinary services, construction, agriculture, manufacturing, and transportation are already facing significant labor shortages.Ashimbayev warned that the demand for skilled labor is expected to rise further, reaching an estimated 1.6 million additional professionals by 2030. "This trend will continue to grow," he added.Kazakhstan's population is over 20 million people. (ICE ALMATY)
