Astana International Forum will be held on May 29-30The Astana International Forum will be held on May 29-30 under the chairmanship of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said in a Monday press release.The Forum will be attended by heads of state and government, leaders of companies and academic circles, who will be seeking practical solutions to most pressing problems, according to the press release.The Forum will have three sections for discussion: foreign policy and international security, energy and climate change, economy and finance.In April 2024, President Tokayev decided to cancel the Astana International Forum, scheduled for June 13-14, 2024 and to reallocate resources in order to address the aftermath of floods and provide aid to affected citizens. In the spring of 2024 Kazakhstan experienced severe floods, the worst seen in the last 80 years.The Astana International Forum serves as a platform for global dialogue, aiming to foster collaboration in addressing critical global issues. Initiated by Kazakhstan, the Forum brings together high-level representatives from governments, international organizations, businesses, and academia to discuss and devise solutions to pressing challenges such as climate change, food security, and energy sustainability.
