The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has recently announced an initial loan of $4 million to the Women’s Microfinance Fund in Jordan to support climate change mitigation in women-owned enterprises in the Kingdom. The loan will be co-financed by the EBRD, which will provide $3 million, while the Green Climate Fund will contribute an additional $1 million. According to a report issued by the bank, the loan proceeds will be allocated to climate change mitigation and adaptation technologies for local women-led micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in Jordan, in accordance with the criteria and reporting requirements of the Green Climate Fund (GEFF) programme in Jordan.
