NO CHANGE IN THE STAGES OF THE "NATIONAL CARRIER"

Amid the ongoing need to address the water deficit in the Kingdom, the National Carrier Project for the Desalination of Red Sea Water in Aqaba is progressing according to its planned stages and announced timeline. While the signing of the National Carrier Project contract has renewed hopes of overcoming the Kingdom’s water scarcity challenges, government sources confirmed to Al-Ghad that the project is still advancing as scheduled. They indicated that negotiations are currently underway to reach the financial closure stage, which is expected to occur by the end of 2025. The sources, who wished to remain anonymous, emphasized that there has been no change to the project’s work program. Once completed, the National Carrier Project is expected to provide 300 million cubic meters of water annually, meeting the needs of approximately 4 million citizens. However, the cost of this water and its pricing have not yet been determined. (ICE AMMAN)
