THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on Tuesday issued an advisory for Philippine exporters to adopt the European Union's (EU) new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which took effect on Feb. 11 and will be fully applicable on Aug. 12, 2026. The new regulation aims to reduce packaging waste, boost recycling efforts, and phase out harmful substances in packaging materials.
