DOMESTIC DEMAND BOOSTS INDONESIA’S FOOTWEAR INDUSTRY GROWTH
The Indonesian Footwear Association (Aprisindo) has received a blessing from the demand for new orders during this year's Eid momentum. This condition is one of the factors driving the increase in the manufacturing index in February 2025. According to an S&P Global report, Indonesia's Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) rose to 53.6 from 51.9 in January, indicating improving operating conditions in the sector. Aprisindo Executive Director Yoseph Billie Dosiwoda said new orders for national footwear have increased in the last 3 months. This has made the industry increasingly optimistic about achieving positive growth performance. Not only that, as one of the contributors to the labor-intensive industry, the footwear industry is also said to have quite an impact on job creation. The party remains optimistic, although still cautious about the wave of layoffs that are often occurring in the labor-intensive sector. However, until now the footwear and shoe industry is said to have not experienced a wave of layoffs. Its business conditions are stable in contributing to absorbing and supporting the workforce.Source: https://finance.detik.com/industri/d-7804997/industri-keramik-mulai-ekspansi-usai-hgbt-dilanjutkan (ICE GIACARTA)
