NARC SECURES 3 EU-FUNDED PROJECTS WORTH €1.5 MILLION
The National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) has secured three European Union-funded projects worth €1.5 million, aimed at promoting sustainable resource management.Khaled Abu Hammour, NARC’s Director General, expressed pride in winning the three international research projects under the Cross-Border Cooperation Program for the Mediterranean Basin, funded by the EU.These projects focus on sustainable solutions for joint water management and conservation, sustainable water management, and transition to a circular economy and efficient resource use.Abu Hammour emphasized that investing in human capital is key to advancing scientific research, highlighting the expertise of NARC researchers, which enabled them to compete successfully among 636 projects from Mediterranean countries.He also acknowledged the EU’s support, stating that this strategic partnership helps apply research outcomes to benefit the agricultural sector and promote sustainable agricultural development.Naeem Mazahreh, NARC’s Assistant Director for Scientific Research, noted that the selected projects align with an integrated approach to water, food, energy, and environmental sustainability.
