Kazakh PM, China's CAMCE President discuss investment projects in Alatau cityKazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov met with the President of China CAMC Engineering Co. (CAMCE) Li Haixin and discussed the prospects of implementing investment projects in the city of Alatau, the government press service reported."The president of the company, Li Haixin, made a number of proposals on the prospects of investment cooperation in the development of transport, logistics and industrial infrastructure in the city of Alatau. Attention was paid to cooperation within the framework of the development of the Middle Corridor," the report said.The press service added that as part of the head of state's instructions to step up efforts to attract investment to the country's economy, the government has stepped up cooperation with business representatives in order to quickly resolve existing problems and launch investment projects in a timely manner.According to the President of Kazakhstan, over the past six years the volume of attracted foreign direct investment amounted to about $130 billion, foreign investment in the non-resource sector amounted to $72.7 billion.Following the meeting, the relevant government agencies were instructed to work out the details of the investment proposal.The city of regional importance Alatau, Ili district, was established by decree of the head of state in January 2024. The government approved the general plan of the city of Alatau and changed the boundaries of Ili, Talgar districts and the town of Konaev.
