KazMunayGas considering production of environmentally friendly aviation fuel - Energy MinistryThe national company KazMunayGas is considering the possibility of starting production of environmentally friendly aviation fuel (SAF), the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan reported.According to the press service, Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev met with Director of the European and North Atlantic Bureau of ICAO Nicolas Rallo in Astana on Wednesday, where they discussed issues of green transformation in Kazakhstan.The Kazakh side emphasized its commitment to the development of renewable energy sources and the implementation of environmentally sustainable projects, creating favorable conditions for investors."KazMunayGas is considering the possibility of starting SAF production," said the press release issued after the meeting.According to the press service, during the meeting the ICF recommendations on the construction of a plant for processing bioethanol into SAF and plans to expand bioethanol production at the Bio Operations plant were discussed."Kazakhstan is demonstrating its readiness to build a plant for the production of sustainable aviation fuel and is actively working to create conditions for the development of clean energy. We are convinced that the energy transition is impossible without the active participation of all stakeholders. Kazakhstan is ready for cooperation at all levels," Energy Minister is quoted as saying by the press service."KazMunayGas is Kazakhstan's national operator for exploration, production, processing and transportation of hydrocarbons, representing the state's interests in the oil and gas industry.
