JSW’S SHARE PRICE PLUMMETS FOLLOW RELEASE OF FINANCIAL RESULTS
On Thursday Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa, the largest producer of high quality hard coking coal in the European Union, saw its share price tumble by as much as 8 percent to PLN23.10, with turnover in JSW shares totalling PLN32.16m, following the publication of preliminary financial results for 2024. The figures presented by group show that last year JSW posted a gross loss of sales of PLN756.8m and EBITDA loss of more than PLN6.5bn as well as produced 12.25 million tonnes of coal, of which 9.92 million tonnes was coking coal. In the opinion experts, JSW’s difficulties are a result of current market trends, above all declining prices of coking coal on global markets as well as continuously rising operating costs.
