EV USE PROJECTED TO INCREASE BY 500 PERCENT DURING EID PERIOD
State-run electricity company PLN projected that the use of electric vehicles (EVs) during the 2025 Eid al-Fitr period will increase by 500 percent, or to 21,570 vehicles, up from 4,314 vehicles in 2024. To ensure a smooth homecoming journey for EV users, PLN has prepared one thousand Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLUs) on the Trans Java-Sumatra homecoming routes. Specifically, the distribution of SPKLU units includes 431 in Sumatra, 2,448 in Java, 166 in Bali, 215 in Kalimantan, 145 in Sulawesi, 26 in Maluku, 72 in Nusa Tenggara, and 26 in Papua. The PLN Mobile application offers technological support, featuring Electric Vehicle Digital Services (EVDS) that assist users in locating the nearest SPKLU location. Additionally, the application includes a Trip Planner feature to help users plan routes and identify the most optimal charging locations for their vehicles. With optimal infrastructure and service preparedness, PLN is dedicated to fostering the EV ecosystem in Indonesia and ensuring EV users have a safe, comfortable, and stress-free travel experience during their homecoming journeys.Source : https://en.antaranews.com/news/347773/ev-use-projected-to-increase-by-500-percent-during-eid-period?utm_source=antaranews&utm_medium=desktop&utm_campaign=editor_picks (ICE GIACARTA)
