KMG signs 45 bln tenge contract for exploration, production at Bolashak site in Mangistau regionNational Company KazMunayGas JSC and the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan have signed a contract for exploration and production of hydrocarbons within the framework of a complex project at the Bolashak subsoil site in the Mangistau region in the west of the country, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reported."Total investment in the project will amount to about 45 billion tenge, the work program envisages drilling two wells and carrying out 3D seismic exploration in the area of 430 km2," the press release said.It is also reported that direct negotiations have started with NC KazMunayGas JSC on granting the right to use the subsoil of the Ozen Severny field in the Mangistau region. The expected investment for 2025-2028 will amount to more than 2 billion tenge, with the drilling of two exploration wells planned.KazMunayGas is Kazakhstan's national operator for exploration, production, processing and transportation of hydrocarbons and represents the state's interests in the oil and gas industry.
