INDONESIAN GOVT PLANS TO CONSTRUCT MEGA REFINERIES WITH 1MILLION-BARREL CAPACITY

The Indonesian government is advancing plans to construct a large-scale refinery with a capacity of 1 million barrels, doubling the initial target of 500,000 barrels. Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia announced that the project will span multiple regions, including Kalimantan, Java, Sulawesi, Maluku Islands, and Papua, ensuring equitable distribution. Additionally, the government aims to establish a Dimethyl Ether (DME) production facility as an LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) alternative, expand fuel storage capacity to 1 million barrels per day, and invest in renewable energy through a solar panel factory. Plans also include downstream development in fisheries, plantations, forestry, and mining sectors, targeting bauxite, nickel, tin, and quartz sand as critical minerals. These initiatives are expected to drive economic growth and sustainability across various industries.Source: https://industri.kontan.co.id/news/pemerintah-siap-bangun-kilang-jumbo-di-beberapa-lokasi-total-kapasitas-1-juta-barrel  (ICE GIACARTA)
