CONSUMERS SHOW CLEAR PREFERENCE

The latest survey conducted by YouGov Shopper Intelligence shows that in 2024 consumers in Poland spent PLN244bn on FMCG shopping, which marks an increase by more than 8 percent on the preceding year. The survey also shows that a whopping 43 percent of this amount was spent in discount stores, which have come to dominate the Polish retail market, followed by local supermarkets with 14 percent and small-format chain stores with 8 percent. Commenting on the matter, Szymon Mordasiewicz, Managing Director at YouGov Shopper Intelligence, has noted that currently consumer sentiment and propensity to spend are closely related to short-term changes in inflation.
