Saudi gigaproject developer Diriyah Company has announced the new media and innovation district at its Diriyah project in Riyadh. The project will span an area of over 250,000 square metres (sq m) of office spaces, over 15,000 sq m of retail spaces and about 450 residential units. It will also include the Luxury 1, a 325-key hotel, which will be the brand’s first property in the Middle East.​ The media and innovation district will be located near the multipurpose 20,000-seater Diriyah Arena. The district will serve as a new home for global media networks, creative agencies and professionals seeking a collaborative ecosystem with state-of-the-art infrastructure, designed to promote sustainability and provide an exceptional quality of life. The project was announced at the Mipim event in Cannes, France. The Diriyah Arena was announced during last year’s edition of the Mipim event. The Arena will have a built-up area of 76,000 sq m and is designed by US-based architectural firm HKS Architects. It will be able to host various sports, entertainment and cultural events.
