INDONESIA'S INVESTMENT GRADE: REGULATORY STABILITY AND TOURISM DRIVING GROWTH

Indonesia has maintained its investment-grade rating despite global economic challenges such as trade wars, geopolitical tensions, and regional instability. This resilience is attributed to strong macroeconomic fundamentals, stable policies, robust domestic consumption, export performance, and infrastructure development. President-elect Prabowo Subianto's diplomatic initiatives and visits by international leaders highlight Indonesia's perceived stability as a key geopolitical and economic partner. The nation’s non-aligned foreign policy, strategic economic collaborations with ASEAN, BRICS, and G7, and increasing global business interest further reinforce its appeal as a stable investment destination. Tourism presents significant investment potential, with the government's focus on premium and eco-tourism, infrastructure expansion, and favorable incentives such as digital nomad visas and special economic zones. These efforts aim to position Indonesia as a leading tourism investment destination in Asia. However, the lack of regulatory stability remains a challenge for investors. Frequent policy changes, bureaucratic inefficiencies, inconsistent tax regulations, and legal enforcement gaps undermine investor confidence. Addressing these structural issues will enable Indonesia to transform into an investment haven, combining economic resilience with long-term stability and transparency.Source: https://wartaekonomi.co.id/read560705/indonesias-investment-grade-amid-global-instability-can-regulatory-stability-and-tourism-investment-turn-it-into-an-investment-have (ICE GIACARTA)
