Vice Chairman of Commission VII DPR RI, Evita Nursanty, has highlighted the detrimental impact of uncontrolled imports on local industries, citing increasing layoffs and financial struggles across various sectors. Evita has called for decisive action, including evaluating and revising pro-industry policies, improving customs supervision, and addressing entrenched practices that harm domestic businesses. Additionally, she emphasized the need for stronger enforcement mechanisms to ensure compliance with regulations and to support struggling industries. Once finalized, the revised regulation is expected to bring clarity and predictability to import policies, restore confidence in the domestic textile sector, and contribute to the government's broader efforts to enhance industrial competitiveness and safeguard local jobs.
