CENTRAL BANK GOVERNOR: ECONOMIC GROWTH EXPECTED TO RISE TO 2.7% THIS YEAR

Central Bank Governor Adel Sharkas stated that the partnership between the government and the banking sector is a crucial pillar in building a more resilient economy capable of adapting to regional and international changes. He also emphasized that this partnership is vital in supporting the royal vision, which aims to enhance the investment climate, boost Jordan’s competitiveness, and strengthen its position as a leading financial and banking hub in the region. Speaking at the launch of the banks’ initiative to allocate JD 90 million to support the health and education sectors on Sunday, Sharkas noted that the Central Bank expects Jordanian economic growth to increase to 2.7% in 2025, with further growth anticipated, reaching 3.5% in the medium-term.
