PERTAMINA LAUNCHES OIL & GAS EXPLORATION IN NATUNA TO STRENGTHEN ENERGY SECURITY
Pertamina East Natuna, a subsidiary of Pertamina’s upstream oil and gas division, has commenced exploration in the North Natuna Sea as part of efforts to increase Indonesia’s domestic hydrocarbon reserves. The project, managed by the Regional Java Subholding Upstream Pertamina, covers a working area of 10,484 square kilometers with water depths ranging from 130 to 150 meters, approximately 270 kilometers from Natuna Besar Island. Under a production-sharing contract with the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Task Force (SKK Migas), Pertamina East Natuna holds full ownership and operational control over the block for the next 30 years, starting from June 2023. The exploration campaign includes the verification and validation of potential hydrocarbon resources. With a well-planned strategy and the application of advanced exploration technologies, Pertamina East Natuna is optimistic about maximizing hydrocarbon potential in East Natuna, one of Indonesia’s outermost territories. This initiative not only supports oil and gas exploration but also aligns with the broader vision of enhancing national energy security while fostering economic benefits for the country.Source : https://indonesiabusinesspost.com/3916/corporate-affairs/pertamina-launches-oil-gas-exploration-in-natuna-to-strengthen-energy-security (ICE GIACARTA)
