Deputy Industry Minister Faisol Riza highlighted the potential of Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund, BPI Danantara, with its substantial asset liquidity of IDR14,700 trillion (US$868 billion), to support the development of the domestic aerospace industry. At a cooperation agreement signing between PT Dirgantara Indonesia (DI) and PT Yogya Presisi Teknitama Industri (YPTI), Riza emphasized that Danantara's assets could help PT DI expand its operations independently, without external investment. The growing demand for aircraft components and fleets, as evidenced by McKinsey's data on the global backlog of 15,700 aircraft orders, presents a significant opportunity for Indonesia's aviation industry. Riza noted that major global aircraft manufacturers like Boeing and Airbus are increasing their supply chain capacity to meet the high demand for aircraft fleets. This demand is expected to benefit Indonesia's domestic aviation industry. According to an International Air Transport Association (IATA) study, Indonesia is projected to become the fourth-largest aviation market globally by 2036. The 2023 International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) also projected a threefold increase in domestic flights and passengers by 2045, reaching 7.6 million flights and 690 million passengers. President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the role of the Danantara Investment Management Agency in supporting national development by optimizing the management of Indonesia's wealth. The government has shown commitment to managing state assets with financial discipline and responsible governance, securing around US$20 billion through efficiency measures in the administration's first 100 days.
