INDONESIA'S NATIONAL DATA CENTER SET TO OPEN BY APRIL 2025

The Indonesian government is set to launch the National Data Center (PDN) in Cikarang, Bekasi, by April 2025. Initially planned for March, the timeline was adjusted due to Ramadan. The PDN project, which began in 2022, is being developed under a Government-to-Government (G-to-G) financing scheme with France, securing a loan of €16.68 million (Rp2.7 trillion). The facility was originally scheduled for completion by August 17, 2024, to coincide with Indonesia’s Independence Day but faced delays. PDN Cikarang is a high-capacity data center featuring a 25,000-core processor, 200-terabit memory, and up to 40 petabytes of storage. It operates on a 20 MW electricity supply, expandable to 80 MW, and adheres to Tier 4 global standards, ensuring an uninterrupted network. The facility employs both internal and external security measures and a world-class water cooling system to maintain efficiency and reliability. Covering a five-hectare site with a building area of nearly 16,000 square meters, PDN Cikarang is designed to support high-level cloud computing and industrial services. The surrounding area will be developed as a hub for digital and industrial growth. Once operational, the center will play a crucial role in Indonesia’s digital infrastructure, enhancing data security and cloud-based services at a national level.Source: https://indonesiabusinesspost.com/3955/national-resilience/indonesias-national-data-center-in-cikarang-set-to-open-by-april-2025 (ICE GIACARTA)
