EUROSTAT RELEASES LABOUR COSTS UPDATE

Eurostat has reported that in Q4, 2024 nominal hourly labour costs in Poland rose by 13.8 percent y/y, following increases of 12 percent in Q3 of that year and 13.1 percent in Q4, 2023, and the quarterly figure marked the second highest increase in the European Union after Croatia. The data released by the statistical office also show that wages increased by 13.8 percent, with other components of compensation rising by 13.5 percent. Finally, in the industry sector labour costs rose by 10.6 percent in Q4 of 2024, following an increase of 11 percent in Q3 of last year. In construction, costs increased by 11.5 percent, as much as in the preceding quarter, and in services costs went up by 10.4 percent, after rising by 9.1 percent in Q3. (ICE VARSAVIA)
