NEOM SETS APRIL DEADLINE FOR COAST GUARD VILLAGE

Saudi Arabia’s Neom has set a new deadline of 23 April for firms to submit their proposals for a tender covering the construction of the coast guard residential village, located 20 kilometres (km) south of Haql and north of the Gulf of Aqaba coastal road. The tender was first issued in October last year. The previous deadline was 26 March. The project will be developed on a design-and-build basis over 1 square kilometre. It will include residential facilities, administration buildings, military and police buildings, mosques, a shopping centre, sports facilities, a healthcare clinic, schools, a civil defence facility, warehouses, a waste management facility and associated infrastructure. The project will be developed in two phases. The first phase will occupy 418,500 square metres and will be fenced off until the second phase expansion. The contract duration is 15 months from the start of construction. In April last year,  Neom had sought interest from companies in a project to develop the coast guard residential village. In February,  Neom was focusing on delivering the first phase of The Line, setting a new deadline of 24 March for firms to submit their proposals to undertake the raft foundations for modules at the Hidden Marina section of the development. Each module is designed so that the raft works can be undertaken in three sections: North Blade, Canyon and South Blade. Tendering for the raft works has been broken down into six lots across modules 45, 46 and 47, with lot 1 (module 46 west) and lot 2 (module 46 east) of module 46 being tendered first. The raft foundations follow the piling work for The Line. Piling work in the marina area began in 2023. Nine contractors were engaged as part of a framework agreement. Contractors were also engaged on the excavation work for the marina, which involved moving about 1 million cubic metres of earth every week, making it the world’s largest excavation project. While speaking at the Public Investment Fund's Private Sector Forum 2025 in Riyadh, Denis Hickey, chief development officer at The Line, confirmed Neom’s plans to prioritise the delivery of the project’s first phase, which will span 2.5km across three modules. He added: “The Line’s first phase will cover an area of about 21 million square metres and will house about 200,000 people.”   For registration as a supplier: https://www.neom.com/en-us/our-business/suppliers   (ICE RIYADH)
