STORE PRICES WILL GO UP AGAIN FOR EASTER

In March, the number of shop promotions fell by 13.7% year-on-year, despite upcoming Easter sales. Analysts predict pre-holiday prices may rise by 6-7% compared to last year, exceeding recent monthly increases (5.8% in February, 5.9% in January). The surge is driven by soaring prices of fats, especially butter, as well as eggs and sweets—popular Easter purchases. However, ongoing price wars among major retailers could help limit further increases. (ICE VARSAVIA)
