FORBES 2025 LIST INCLUDES PROMINENT QATARI BILLIONAIRES
Forbes has unveiled its highly anticipated 2025 World’s Billionaires list, highlighting a record 3,028 billionaires globally, the highest since the list’s inception nearly four decades ago in 1987.Among the distinguished names on the list are two prominent Qatari businessmen: Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, former Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, Chairman of the Qatari Businessmen Association.The inclusion of these influential figures reflects Qatar’s continued economic prominence and their significant roles in shaping both the country’s business landscape and international investments.Forbes’ 2025 rankings also saw over 280 newcomers, bringing fresh talent into the billionaire ranks.The United States leads the list with 902 billionaires, followed by China (516, including Hong Kong) and India (205). Forbes compiled the rankings using stock prices and exchange rates as of March 7, 2025.In a notable development, Saudi Arabia made its return to the list after a seven-year absence, further showcasing the growing influence of the region’s business elite.The Middle East and North Africa region had 38 Arab billionaires from nine countries, with a combined net worth of $128.4 billion, a significant increase from 2024, which listed 20 Arab billionaires worth $53.7 billion.Qatar’s Presence on the ListSheikh Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani ranked 8th among Arabs and 929th globally, with a net worth of $3.9 billion.Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani secured the 1,850th spot, with a fortune estimated at $1.9 billion.
