KAZAKHSTAN-SLOVENIA-COOPERATION
Kazakhstan and Slovenia will expand economic partnership in key sectorsKazakhstan and Slovenia are set to deepen their economic partnership, with both nations identifying transport, logistics and digital innovation as priority areas for collaboration, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said on Monday during talks with Slovenian President Natasa Pirc-Musar."We would like to have closer cooperation with your country, and as president, I will do everything possible to strengthen ties in all areas of mutual interest. We view Slovenia as one of Kazakhstan’s key and very important partners in the Balkans. We are prepared to offer Slovenian businesses and government a number of attractive investment projects,” Tokayev said during the meeting with Pirc-Musar.The president of Kazakhstan noted that the two countries have good opportunities for cooperation in such sectors as transport, logistics, digitalization, innovation, healthcare and tourism. Tokayev said that as many as 19 companies with Slovenian capital participation currently operate in Kazakhstan in the pharmaceutical, engineering, telecommunication and renewable energy sectors.According to Tokayev, Slovenia’s direct investments in Kazakhstan’s economy have reached nearly $200 million.Pirc-Musar said that her delegation includes representatives of the Slovenian businesses who are ready to discuss promising areas of collaboration with their Kazakh counterparts."A large business delegation is accompanying me, and they have already started discussions with their Kazakh colleagues about potential partnerships. Economic exchange is on the rise, and I reckon we could achieve even more. Contacts between presidents and politicians are always a step forward because politicians open doors for business," the Slovenian president said.President of Slovenia Natasa Pirc-Musar arrived in Kazakhstan on Monday, March 31, on an official visit.
