Polpharma to implement € 55 mln pharmaceutical project in KazakhstanKazakh Invest and Polpharma Group have signed a memorandum on cooperation in the field of development of pharmaceutical production in Kazakhstan, the amount of investment will be 55 million euros, the press service of Kazakh Invest reported.The signing took place on Thursday during a meeting of Kazakh Invest deputy CEO, Azamat Kozhanov, with the Polpharma Group CEO, Markus Sieger."The project envisages the production of new drugs taking into account the needs of the domestic and foreign markets, including new therapeutic areas for the Santo member of the Polpharma Group, new production lines, investments in research and development work, as well as improving the level of professional knowledge of employees," the report said.The total implementation period of the project will be 10 years.According to Ziger, in addition to developing production in Kazakhstan, the Polpharma Group is looking to use the country as an export hub for major markets.The company also expressed its intention to sign an investment agreement with the Kazakh government in the future, which will allow it to receive state support and assistance in the implementation of the project. Kozhanov, in turn, confirmed his readiness to provide full support at all stages of the project.According to Kazakh Invest, Poland's largest pharmaceutical manufacturer, Polpharma Group, is actively developing production in Central Asia. In 2024, 12% of the company's total turnover was generated in Central Asian countries.The state company Kazakh Invest is an authorized body in the field of attracting investment to Kazakhstan, provides a full range of services to support investment projects from idea to implementation on the principle of one-stop shop and acts as a single coordination center for special economic zones of the Republic.
