Italy’s TRAMITE Group to establish tomato processing based on Kazakh raw materialsThe Italian company TRAMITE Group is interested in making tomato products from Kazakh raw materials, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reported.According to the press service, on Tuesday the Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov discussed with the founder of the Italian company TRAMITE Group Gianantonio Tramet the project of growing and processing tomatoes for leading Italian brands."Gianantonio Tramet, in turn, stressed that TRAMITE Group is actively looking for partners for the supply of natural foods from Kazakhstan, which, according to him, has favourable climatic conditions and natural resources for the production of high-quality products. In particular, the company is interested in establishing the production of tomato paste and other products in Kazakhstan," the report says.According to the government of Kazakhstan, Italy imports 180,000 tonnes of tomato paste annually, and TRAMITE Group is considering the possibility of redirecting a part of this import for processing in Kazakhstan and the countries of Central Asia.The key partner of the company will be the Kazakh LLP Agriqa Farms, which is the initiator of the project on creation of an export agro-industrial cluster in the Shardara district (Turkestan region, in the south of Kazakhstan).The implementation of the project, which includes the construction of a greenhouse complex on an area of 22 hectares, will begin in May 2025.
