Kazakh National Bank expects a rise in currency sales from National Fund in AprilThe volume of foreign currency sales from Kazakhstan’s National Fund for budget transfers in April is projected to rise to $0.95-1.050 billion in April from $0.748 billion in March, according to the National Bank of Kazakhstan."According to the government’s preliminary forecasts for budget transfers in April, the National Bank expects currency sales from the National Fund to be between $0.950 billion and $1.050 billion," the National Bank said in a Tuesday press release.In March, currency sales from the National Fund amounted to $0.748 billion in order to make transfers to the government budget and to finance the construction of the Taldykorgan-Usharal gas pipeline.Currency sales from the National Fund accounted for 18% of the total trading volume, or approximately $44 million per day.The National Bank of Kazakhstan did not conduct foreign exchange interventions in March.The National Fund in Kazakhstan accumulates state revenues from oil and gas projects.
