INDIA'S MERCHANDISE EXPORTS MAY FALL SLIGHTLY TO $435 BILLION IN 2024-25: GTRI
India's merchandise exports are projected to fall slightly below USD 435 billion for FY 2024-25 due to factors like global oil price volatility and uncertainties. Exports dipped 10.85 per cent in February to USD 36.91 billion due to volatility in petroleum prices and global uncertainties. At this rate, India's total merchandise exports for FY'2025 are expected to be below USD 435 billion, slightly lower than USD 437.1 billion in FY'2024, as per GTRI (Global Trade Research Initiative). Key sectors such as petroleum products and gems and jewellery have recorded significant declines, highlighting the need for strategic interventions to support recovery. (ICE NEW DELHI)
