POPULAR RETAIL CHAIN CONTINUES TO EXPAND
Aldi Nord, which operates more than 5,000 stores in eight countries, currently runs 360 outlets in Poland, which puts it ahead of Kaufland with 250 stores but far behind Lidl with 1,000 facilities, however, as noted by Wojciech Łubieński, CEO of Aldi Polska, the retailer is poised to open at least 60 stores this year, which means that it will close 2025 with at least 400 stores across Poland. As noted by the CEO, most of the new stores will be opened in cities with a population of more than 100,000, however, the chain will expand not only in large cities and their outskirts, where competition is tough, but also in towns with considerable potential.
