PLN-MASDAR SIGN MOU FOR FLOATING SOLAR POWER DEVELOPMENT IN INDONESIA
Indonesia’s state electricity company PT PLN and Masdar, a renewable energy company based in the United Arab Emirates, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the development of floating solar power projects in Indonesia. The signing took place in Abu Dhabi on April 8, coinciding with the State visit by President Prabowo Subianto.The MoU outlines cooperation on a potential floating solar power project at the Jatigede Reservoir in Sumedang Regency, West Java. The project aims to utilize Indonesia’s solar energy potential by installing solar panels on water surfaces to produce renewable electricity and contribute to the national energy transition. In addition to the MoU, PLN and Masdar also signed a Principles of Agreement to explore the expansion of the Cirata Floating Solar Power Plant in Purwakarta, West Java.
