Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria stated that the government is referencing some European Union (EU) regulations to shape Indonesia's digital governance framework. As quoted in the ministry's press release on Monday, Patria highlighted that several countries have adopted EU regulations regarding digital services and markets, including those concerning artificial intelligence (AI). "One of the most important aspects when we talk about digital transformation for this country, besides AI, is how to manage platforms. Cybersecurity is also something we need to learn about in regulating platforms," he explained. Meanwhile, EU Ambassador to Indonesia Denis Chaibi emphasized the importance of regulations concerning the development and use of technology, including AI. Hence, he encouraged the Indonesian government to send a delegation to EU events that will discuss digital governance.
