Kazakhstan to boost oil exports to Germany by 50% in 2025Kazakhstan is in talks with its partners about increased oil exports to Germany in 2025 to 2.2 million tonnes, Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhanov told Interfax-Kazakhstan.This volume would mark a nearly 50% increase compared to 1.5 million tonnes that KazMunayGas (KMG) previously projected for oil exports via the Druzhba pipeline in 2025, which matched last year’s export levels. The Energy Ministry said earlier that Germany was interested in importing up to 2.5 million tonnes of Kazakh oil annually. However, no agreements on export volumes or prices have been reached yet. "KMG can provide more details about these plans, which are, indeed, a commercial matter," the minister said.Since 2023, Kazakhstan has been exporting oil to Germany through Transneft’s pipeline system, delivering it to Adamowo-Zastawa, an oil delivery point in Poland near the Belarussian border. President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said earlier that the republic was ready to increase oil exports to Germany. In the 1st quarter of 2025, Kazakhstan pumped 377,000 tonnes of its oil via the Ozen-Atyrau-Samara pipeline for onward delivery to Germany through Transneft’s system, which is a 25.7% rise year-on-year, according to KazTransOil, a subsidiary of KazMunayGas.
