BANGLADESH, JAPAN FORGE STRONGER SME COLLABORATION

Strengthening ties between Bangladeshi and Japanese small and medium enterprises (SMEs) was the focus of a roundtable discussion during the ‘Investors B2B Japan’ event in Tokyo on 25 April. Professor Dr. Naohiro Kurose, President of ICOSA, expressed optimism for future cooperation, highlighting Japan’s commitment to SME growth and the benefits of enhanced bilateral engagement.Professor Wada Masatake advocated for regular exchanges between entrepreneurs to foster sustainable partnerships, contributing to regional development. Mikhail Idris Islam, Director of HAISON, emphasized the historical relationship between Bangladesh and Japan as a basis for SME collaboration.Hideki Murakami, Deputy Head of UNIDO ITPO Tokyo, expressed hope that this dialogue would lead to long-term collaboration between the SME sectors of both countries. The session reaffirmed a commitment to greater interaction, exchanges, and joint ventures, marking a positive step in Bangladesh-Japan SME cooperation. (ICE NEW DELHI)
