TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Foxtron will assemble Mitsubishi Motors for export at a Yulon Group factory in Miaoli, reports said Wednesday.Foxtron is a joint venture between Yulon and Foxconn Technology Group. The venture had already produced two EVs in Taiwan, the Model T bus and the Luxgen n7 SUV. Mitsubishi said it had signed a memorandum of understanding with Foxtron, with the Taiwan company agreeing to develop and supply the new model.Exports to Australia and New Zealand are scheduled to begin in the second half of 2026, per UDN. Yulon’s factory in the town of Sanyi will be in charge of manufacturing the car. The plant housed the production line for the Luxgen n7 and is developing a new car based on Foxtron’s Model B design for left-hand and right-hand drivers. The project with Mitsubishi would help with the globalization of EVs developed and built in Taiwan, according to Yulon. The group started off cooperating with Nissan in the late 1950s, and later went on to launch its own Luxgen brand and to produce Mitsubishi and MG vehicles.May. 7, 2025 16:04Matthew StrongTaiwan News, Staff Writer (ICE TAIPEI)
